Description
A small stone shelter (the casina) built by former sheepherders gives our terroir its name. Until the 1950s, there were many rocks on the site, which were removed to free land to extend the olive orchard. Not all stones were removed, though, and they usually impart an agreable mineral taste on our olive oils. Part of the bigger rocks, left on the place, host two small woods frequented by birds and other small animals.
